During Q1 of 2022, the executive committee awarded the following grants to these recovery-oriented systems of care. Read more about how these organizations will be utilizing their ARCHway grant.
Community Partners in Prevention (Eureka, MO)
This grant will fund their Parent Up Rockwood Project. Data shows that parents play a critical role in youth substance use prevention. Parent Up Rockwood will be an overarching messaging campaign to encompass educational messaging and presentations geared toward parents in our community. Topics will include: how to talk to teens about substance use, developing resilient youth, anti-vaping strategies and tobacco cessation, medical marijuana safety, prescription drug safety, and reducing youth access to alcohol. Normalizing these topics in communities and families reduces the stigma associated with substance use and allows youth to ask for help when struggling with a substance use disorder.
Hilljack House (St. Louis, MO)
This grant was utilized to cover the cost of recovery housing for an individual impacted by a substance use disorder.
Learn to Live Recovery (Hermann, MO)
This grant was utilized to cover the cost of recovery housing for an individual impacted by a substance use disorder.
Addiction is Real (Chesterfield, MO)
This grant will allow the Byrnes Mill Police Department to utilize AIR’s Hidden in Plain View exhibit during its “Parenting Seminar on Teen Alcohol and Drug Abuse”. This exhibit includes an interactive teen bedroom that educates parents and caregivers on the signs of risky behavior. Adults can tour the bedroom and learn about over 70 red flags that may signal that a teen is using drugs and/or alcohol. Caregivers leave with a detailed handbook offering prevention advice and photos/explanations of all of the items that may signal a teen is involved in risky behavior.
Hope Creates (Chesterfield, MO)
This grant will fund their Make Your M.A.R.C. (Music. Art. Recovery. Connection) Project, which provides an eight-week expressive arts-based engagement program for youth from St. Louis County Family Courts. The program provides youth, ages 12-18 years, who have recently left juvenile detention, and have a history of substance abuse (or deemed at risk) with a multi-disciplinary art and music healing experience.
Jubilee Community Church (St. Louis, MO)
Jubilee provides transitional living and programs for men with substance use disorders in the city of St. Louis. They will utilize the funds to buy toiletries and other essential items for the house, making it a comfortable living environment for those seeking recovery.
New Foundations Recovery House (Cincinnati, OH)
This grant will be utilized to provide intake funds/program fees for those at New Foundations. $120 is what a person entering their program needs to process their intake. Once they are in the program, New Foundations works diligently with their residents to find employment opportunities and/or other funding, if available, to help them get on their feet. Also, they’ve been able to provide an intake basket for less than $25, which includes the items most come into our program without – twin sheets, pillows, blanket, laundry basket, shampoo, razor, notepad, pen, etc.
Aspell Recovery (Jackson, TN)
This grant was utilized to cover the cost of recovery housing for an individual impacted by a substance use disorder. This individual was unable to work for a couple of weeks due to COVID-19, and the grant helped cover his rent during that period of time.
Nextep (Ft Myers, FL)
This grant was utilized to cover the cost of recovery housing for an individual impacted by a substance use disorder.
The Phoenix House Project (Cape Coral, FL)
This grant was utilized to cover the cost of recovery housing for an individual impacted by a substance use disorder.
Oxford House Mahi (Cape Coral, FL)
This grant was utilized to cover the cost of recovery housing for an individual impacted by a substance use disorder.
Dena Paniccia, LLC (Ft Myers, FL)
This grant will be used to provide free counseling services to people within the community who are looking to receive mental wellness treatment while in recovery. The goal is to assist recipients with receiving quality mental wellness care for mental health issues underlying their reason for substance use. This would include trauma-related issues, grief-related issues, management of depression symptoms, management of anxiety symptoms, management of substance use triggers, and other identified issues that have impacted the client’s personal recovery.
Charlotte Behavioral Health Care (Punta Gorda, FL)
This grant is a result of ARCHway Institute’s Annual Golf & Tennis Event in Punta Gorda, FL. This event raises funds for Charlotte Behavioral Health Care (CBHC) and the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office in their Drug Addiction Recovery Initiative. This initiative allows for anyone struggling with a substance use disorder to present themselves to the Sheriff’s Office. From there, a deputy will transport the person to CBHC where they will receive treatment FREE of charge.
