ARCHway’s 2021 Helicopter Golf Ball Drop Wrap-up

Thank you to ARCHway supporters, volunteers, and staff for making this year’s event the best yet!

The event raised a total of $29,555!

On December 4, 2021, ARCHway held its most successful Helicopter Golf Ball Drop yet. The event raised a total of $29,555, which is a 33% increase in proceeds from previous years. The funds will be used to support ARCHway’s Advocates for HOPE Program (peer-to-peer education, support, and guidance for individuals and families in need), and yearly grant giving, so we can provide financial assistance towards treatment, recovery housing, recovery community organizations, and prevention efforts. 

Last year, 2,092 golf balls were entered. This year, we had 3,141 entries, which is a 50% increase in participation. We want to congratulate the big winners from this year’s event.

Note:  Alternates will be contacted if we cannot reach one of the 13 winners or a winner passes on taking a prize. Dave Stuckey from the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Sunrise Rotary Club will be contacting these individuals to pick up their prizes.

ARCHway wants to thank the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Sunrise Rotary Club for their on-going support and leadership in partnering with ARCHway to run this event each year. Their community service and leadership are greatly appreciated in helping to bring forward conversation about the barriers to recovery for individuals and families impacted by substance use disorders.

Next Year’s Drop will be on December 3, 2022

We are already getting started on next year’s event. You will, again, be able to choose where you’d like the funds to go: an ARCHway HOPE Fund, treatment agency, recovery housing agency, recovery community organization, or prevention effort. HOPE Fund sponsors and treatment, recovery, and prevention programs who would like to learn more about how they can participate in next year’s event, so others can donate in support of their work, contact Emily Jung at emily.jung@thearchwayinstitute.org

In addition, you could choose to donate to ARCHway’s Advocates of HOPE Program. This program allows ARCHway to provide help and hope to individuals and families who are currently being impacted by a substance use disorder. Many families don’t know where to go or whom to reach out to for support, and ARCHway strives to be a place to call to get people the help they need.
